Import Face Off

Import Face Off (IFO) was founded in 2001 by Cliff Wallace, in South Louisiana. Starting as a small local race, to now being the largest national touring import series with 100,000+ through the gates annually. Although IFO focuses on the import scene, all makes and models are welcome to attend. Ran for import enthusiasts, by import enthusiasts.

There are 40+ events coast to coast annually, and 2 of them are held at my home track, Pacific Raceways. One in late spring, and the second in late summer. Itinerary here includes: car/truck/bike show, drag racing, low car limbo, and 2step competition. Some locations also host drifting. The judged show is a tailgate atmosphere, with awards same day. IFO pays out $250,000+ in cash, prizes, and trophies each year. DJ’s do a great job of entertaining and announcing throughout the day and during each category of events, if you can hear them over all the VTEC engagement…

I’ve been attending Import Face Off for several years now, always on media duty. The available variety consistently proves photogenic, and it’s a welcome shift to see the staging lanes full of nothing but imports at times. To be able to keep up with current trends, and participate in activities with owners and spectators, all like minded and sharing similar interests. I enjoy some of the uniqueness of builds, and the rarity of some of their JDM counterparts. The all-inclusive vibe is what keeps me returning, always providing new content. Included images are from 2019 season to current.

Japanese Domestic Market refers to Japans home market for vehicles. For the importer, these terms refer to vehicles and parts designed to conform to Japanese regulations and to suit Japanese buyers. The term is abbreviated JDM.
